5 Rules to Pick Winning Horses

Condensed Version

Eliminate any horse whose trainer has won under 9 % of his races unless the horse won their last race. This is found in the Daily Racing Form.

2. CONDITION

Eliminate horse that is 7 yrs old.

Eliminate any horse that has not raced in 4 months in a Maiden or Claiming Race or 6 Months in any other type of race.

Eliminate any horse that has not won a race in 2 years. Found in the record box.

Eliminate any 4 or older horse that won their last race and has not had a race in 29 days unless the race is an allowance or stakes race race.

Eliminate any horse that is more than 12 lengths behind in his last race or finished last.

Eliminate any horse that does not have Declining Lengths.

Eliminate any horse that does not have a Hard Race.

Eliminate any horse that has not run a either 1st or 2nd or within 3 lengths of a similar distance as today unless 2 or 3 yr old horse.

Eliminate any horse that has not run on the surface unless 2 or 3 yr old horse.

Eliminate any horse that does not have a Hard Race.

Make sure the horses remaining have a workout within 16 days or have raced in 20 days. If not eliminate unless they do not workout.

3.  CLASS

Find the class of each horse remaining using the Class Conversion Chart and Master Class Rating Chart as explained in "5 Rules". More than not the last race is the race that you will use.

Keep any horse within 1 class level ( 1 number). The lower the number the better. So if your lowest class horse is a 8 then keep only any horse that has a 9 class.

4. SPEED

Of the horses remaining, find the highest speed of the horses last 2 races using the Beyer Speed Ratings in the Daily Racing Form or the horse with the best speed rating of the last 2 races of the speed ratings that you are using.

5. YOUR HORSE TO PLAY

Play the horse with the top Speed Rating of the last 2 races.
